A sensation has been caused by tho finding of the Carlisle jury at the inquest on the late Sir A. Douglas. Tho Coroner, in summing up, said that vital issues were at stake. Caudle's and Fellows' statements concerning the signals were astounding admissions of negligence. Ho directed the jury to find that the neglect was principally on Caudle's part. Caudle was committed for trial. The verdict is all tho more notable since tho Leeds jury, at the inquest on Lindsay on Monday, found that Caudle and Fellows had not been guilty of culpable negligence.
