Four squads of the Nursing Division of St. .John's Ambulance Brigade, two from Ohristchurch and two from Timaru. competed to-day for the Wells Shield. In the first aid, transport and home nursing sections the result was:— Timiiru A SSO marks: Christchureh B 57.5; Tiniaru B ijoS; Ohristehurch A 534. During the day a conference of officers was'hcM to settle a dispute regarding the ownership and control or' the Ambulance Hall, erected in Tiniavu, and which has been idle since the formal opening, sonic months ago, owing to differences of opinion on those points. The result was that the meeting promised a prompt settlement by vesting in the Borough Council as trustees, and an amicable arrangement regarding a joint management committee and "a committee for the collection of the necessary funds. The Tirnaru Boarding High School is a growing concern, and the roll now numbers- 99, of whom 31 are boarders. Tenders are to bo called for the enlarging of the dormitories.
