RECIPROCITY.
NOT SO EASY AS IT SEEMS-
TREATIES IN THE MAKING.
Preis Association—Electric Telegraph—Copyright"" (Received Tuesday, at 9.5 a.m.) MELBOUKNE, Tueeday. Speaking at tho Dominion Day dinner at the New Zealand Agency, the Prime Minister, Mr J. Cook, in proposing "The Dominion," congratulated' New Zealand on her astuteness in completing a reciprocal agreement with Canada. A voice: What about the treaty between Australia and New Zealand? Mr Cook: Keciproeity is not so easy as it seems in the pleasant atmosphere of a dinner party. (Laughter). These matters are in the making. Just to what extent the making has actually taken place recently I am not prepared to say. Frankly, there is not much time to grapple with these matters, but we are anxiously looking forward to the time when proper attention can be given to such an important subject as reciprocal treaties.
