FAKED INVOICES

At tho hearing of the charge of fraud against the members of Tozer's firm and others engaged in the motor trade, which was resumed to-day, Houghton, formerly in the employment of Tozer's firm, proved that a letter was written at Ldle's order instructing manufacturers re low invoice prices. Ncale gave evidence that the Clement Talbot iirm wrote to Tozers that it was very injudicious to supply sec-ond-hand invoices for customs purposes. Ncale added that prior to 1907 the Customs in Sydney did not check invoices by catalogues. Cross-examined, ho admitted that Tozers discussed with the High Commissioner's Department the method of invoicing in October, i9lO. Tho cross-examination suggested that many changes in Customs decisions had made the matter a complete one.
