TEACHERS' SALARIES.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
BL ENHEIM, Mon day
The Marlborough Teachers' Institute, at their annual meeting, resolved:— (1) That while the institute is,strongly opposed to the payment of salaries on the average attendance or the average roll number, it is of opinion that at least the minimum salaries as outlined by the N.Z.E.I, should be adopted as from January Ist next. (2) That the institute expresses keen disappointment at the meagre increase proposed by the Minister, as it benefits only a small minority of teachers.
