"IN A GOLDEN CAGE."
Hundreds of picture-lovers wended their way ;o the popular T.-P. Slectric Theatre on Saturday night, and the picture palace was packed to the doors. A magnificent series of films were presented, the bill including three special feature dramas. "Iv a Golden Cage" was an excellent presentation by the Nordisk Company, in which "Saharet" the famous dauseuse, made her debut as a picture performer, ami received a well-merited ovation. The story really contains the theme of the old song, "The Bird in a Gilded Cage," aud is brilliantly acted iv luxurious settings. A rich count weds the famous dancer and takes her to his home and daughter —having been married before. The story shows the dancer pining for freedom. She teaches her step-daughter the free ways of life, and creates a desire iv her to go out and see the world. A motor accident, in which two rich gentlemen are hurt and come iuto the mansion for help, gives the key to a. way of escaping, which is readily taken. The final'scenes, in which the count interrupts a dance by his wife in her wild abandonment in the motorists' house, and the terminating incident, make the picture a masterpiece. "Under a Flag of Truce," an American sto- , rv, brought forth rounds of applause from the audience. "Sergeant j Byrne," the other feature drama, was also of exceptional style, being a tale of the North-West mounted police. "Broncho Billy's Dinner" was also_ a line subject, and showed the skilful handling of a team of horses by Miss Clara Williams. Other subjects shown were "The Hindu Chain" (comedydrama), "Just His Luck" (comic), "Saelsach Yale" (scenic), "Eiffel Tower" (scenic), " Bidona 's Forage Cap" (comic).
