THOMPSON REMANDED

Press Association —TClrctric TnlcGraph—Copyrijjht. MELBOURNE, Wednesday. Thompson has been remanded to Jannary 23rd on a charge of murdering Trotter. Thompson underwent a sentence at Adelaide three years ago for assaulting a constable. It is stated that the finger-prints then taken have played an important part in his arrest. The theory that a woman participated in the tragedy has been exploded. It was reported yesterday that a labourer named Thompson had been arrested and formally charged with the murder of Trotter, the chief collector for MacEobert and Sons, confectioners, who on January 7th was shot dead in the presence of his wife and child. His two assailants secured over £200 and escaped. .
