VETERAN OF EIGHTY AMONG THE WOUNDED. Winter in its most forbidding form has come upon the Balkans, and Miss M. Edith Durham, the Daily Chronicle war correspondent, who was held up by snowstorms at Podgoritza, Avas ou November Bth engaged in helping in the base hospital there. "Among those I have in my charge," she Avrites, "is an aged man of seventyfive. He Avas wounded in the right leg in the Avar of thirty years ago; though he Avas perfectly lame when the call came, ho did not hesitate, but joined his comrades in the fighting lino. Noav he has beeii Avounded in the other leg, but the old man is full of spirit, and declares that he Avill right again as soon as ho can be patched up.
