THE DANNEVIRKE SHOW.
It is scarcely more than three years since the Daunevirke District A. and P. Association came into being, yet Avithin that space of time its annual fixture has AA-on extreme popularity, and come to be recognised as one of the most prominent of the North Island district shows. This year marks an important stage in its history. Noav grounds embracing about 26 acres have been purchased and equipped at considerable expense, and it is believed that as the result of much careful thought and planning out the arrangements generally will commend themselves to exhibitors aud the visiting public alike. Mention may be made of a fine grandstand now practically completed, designed to seat nearly a thousand people and proA'ided underneath with luncheon rooms, wellappointed kitchens, cloak rooms, etc. Also, of an unusually roomy oval for tho various competitions, stock-judging rings, ample pen and stall accommodation for cattle, sheep and horses, measuring and weighing stands, cattle-wash, etc., etc. In fact, although the time occupied in actual preparation has been short, few points have been lost sight of Avhich experience has shoAvn to be desirable or necessary in a well-equip-ped and up-to-date ground. This year, moreover, a two days' show is being inaugurated. The dates, as will be seen by advertisement, are the 12th and Kith February next, and entries close on the 29th of this month. On the day following the show the annual ram fair will be held. Prize schedules arc available, and intending exhibitors may obtain copies upon application to the Secretary.
