AN APPEAL BY THE PORTE.

(Received Wednesday, at 8.50 a.m.) LOiNuON, Tuesday.

Sir Edward Grey (Foreign Secretary) speaking in the House of Commons, said it was true that the Porte had appealed to the Powers to secure a suspension of hostilities, and that the Powers were exchanging views.
