BLENHEIM, Wednesday. The Marlborough Paces were opened to-day in perfect weather, anrl with a large" attendance of tne public. Tiie course was in excellent order, and the racing interesting. The sum of £75508 was pur through the machine, as against £0810 last year. Additional results: — Ugbrooke Welter, seven furlongs.— Merry Frank. «.U, I: Curator, !>. 12, 2: Bally Shannon, 8. JI, ;•!. Also started —Negative, Matlow, Parawanui, Moloch and Aenia. A good start. Halfway up the straight Curator led, when Merry Frank came through, winning without an effort by halt' a length. Time, lmin '■> l-:3sec. Upawa Welter, seven furlongs.— Aloha, D.lO, 1: Toney, '.US.J, 2 : Mediterranean, 8.-I. :;. Also started—Astonishment, Forcshot and Stockade. Toney and Mediterranean made the pace from the outset, aurt coming' round the bend Toney was a length iv front, and looked a certain winner, but hy the good riding of Deeley Aloha got on terms, anrl passed Toney at the post, and won by half a length. Sinapis and Odessa were always prominent, and entering the straight Sinapis was in the lead, and, well ridden up the straight, won fairly easily by half a length, Undecided a long neck behind Odessa. Flying Handicap, six furlongs.— Blue Lake, 8.7, 1: Glenspriug. 0.0, 2; Mon Ami, 7.8, s>. All started. Blue Lake and Glenspriug hopped oil' from the jump, aud ran into the straight together, where Blue. Lake came through anrl won easily by a length aud a-lialf. Time, lmiu 15>.<see. Electric Hack, four furlongs.--Gay Lawless. \).2, 1; Mt. Victoria, 8.11, •>; Hector Girl, 7.12. 55. Aiso started — Emma, Miss Vena, San Port. Mt. Victoria and Emma started with the lead, with the winner close up. In the straight, Gay .Lawless came to the frout and won by half a length. Time, 50 jj-f-scc.
