THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES

A goodly array of pictorial wonders has been " selected for this evening's change ar the Foresters" Hall.ami this series should prove one of the most interesting yet shown. In Sehg's splendid nautical production, "The Heart of John Barlow," we see some fine work by tills popular company. The story shows the. fervent devotion of a simple fisherman, and is taken on the coast of California, midst all its rugged beauty. A fine military urama, powerfully acted and presented with that thoroughness which is always a strong chracteristic of the Tauuhauser Company, will be seen in "The Colonel "and the King, " and another by the same artists is "The Coffin Ship, ,, or a 'Tale of the Sea.' "Champions of the Indian Arena" is as novel a piece of spore as was ever served up for the edification of mankind, and must excite an interest equally keen to that aroused by the most famous contest between gloved champions. The arena is set near the Palace of Baroda, ami a number of prize elephants fight witli great vigour. Another film, "Portuguese. Centaurs," fully displays the wonderful pluck. the fearless riding, and dreadful falls experienced by both men and horses. The comedies'by Lubin are creators of laughs, "Mandy's Social Whirl" and "The Governess" taking the lead. Other pictures worthy of note are '•'Birds of a Feather," -'The Marked Dollar" (drama). "A Misunderstanding," "The Falls of Elfkarlo, " and "Tommy Becomes an Actor." On Thursday night next Nat Gould's famous sporting drama, "The Double Event," will be shown for the first time, and will be graphically described by Mr Alt'. Bootliman.
