The majority of Mie committee favours no tax on wool, but such a BUI is not likely to pass the House. The party leaders are seeking as a modus viveudi, probably fifty per cent, reduction in the first year on the tariff of six cent per pound, and then one cent, reduction yearly uutil 1016; and then allow it to come in free. «§£
