Judgment was given for plaintiff by default in the following cases:—William Stuart Ross, England, v. Thomas Harris, Hautotara, claim £5 Ba, costs £1 10s Gd; William Stuart Ross v. John Donovan, Kopuarauga, £2 12s Gd, costs 19s; D. Einiaysou aud Son, Masterton, v. Frederick Spriug, Te Kuiti, £l 4* 3d, costs ss; John Boxhall, Masterton, v. Wiiiiam Evans, Masterton, £4 Gs, costs £1 3s Gd. JUDGMENT SUMMONS. Ar.her Hoskin'g, Mastertou, v. Thomas Carroll, Te Ore Ore, claim £5 16s 6d. Defendant ordered to pay £1 per month, in default three days' imprisonment, order to be suspended till February 9th. "DEFENDED CASES. Hugo and Shearer, Mastertou, v. P. Carr, Mastertou. This claim, £3 18s lOd, was for goods alleged to have been purchased by defendant's late wife. Mr C. A. Powuall appeared for plaintiffs, and Mr D. K. Logan for defendant. The lattor admitted liability to the extent ol 83 4d, but contended that the remainder of the goods had not been obtained for household purposes,but had been purchased by his late wife on her own accouut, for, among other things, the purpose of 7 resentation to other persons. After hearing evidence, his Worship reserved judgment.
