LONDON, Tuesday,
The Daily News says that if the Imperial Conference supports Australia in regard to the Declaration of London the decision will practically kill the Declaration. As far as England is concerned, the Declaration does not place Britain in a worse position as regards raw material, and so far as foodstuffs were concerned, it would be a pity if the Declaration was obstructed because it is less progressive than it might be.
The Daily News interviewed Mr Taverner, Agent-General for Australia, who declared that the ratification of the Declaration as it stands would be a heathen policy. Germany aud France were self-supporting, aud Britain was incapable of providing food. Her millions were dependent ou the other countries, notably Australia.
