ART EXHIBITION.

AT THE TECHNICAL SCHOOL

MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE

The Committee appointed to make arrangements for the holding of an Art Exhibition in the Technical School on Wednesday and Thursday, August 3rd and 4th, met at 4 p.m. yesterday, when there were present:—Mr E. Feist (chairman), Mrs H. T. Wood, Misses Prior, Daniell and Muuro, Messrs W. H. Beetham, W. H. Jackson, C. K. Haslam, C. E. Daniell. E. P. Fenton, Very Rev. Dean McKenua and the secretary. Apologies for absence were received from Mrs Wardell, Miss Wolff, Dr Cook and Mr P. L. Hollings.

It was reported by Mr Jacksnu that he would have about twenty pictures available for exhibition, six or eight of which would be oils.

Dr Cook wished to Be informed if it was intended to restrict the exhibition entirely to pictures and works of a similar character.—lt was resolved that the exhibition be of a general -®aracter, and that it include other branches of art besides pictures.

Dean McKenua, Dr Cook and Mr W. H. Beetham reported having pictures available for the exhibition.

Full power was given the Ladies' Committee to make the necessary arrangements for afternoon tea on Wednesday, August 3rd. It was resolved that the secretary write to the Director ot the Wellington Technical School, asking what works he has on hand for purposes of exhibition, such as repousse work in copper, brass or leather. It was resolved that a meeting of tho Ladies' Committee be held at the Technical School on Tuesday next, at 4 p.m. All members of the General Committee are requested to make up their lists of articles for exhibition, and hand same in to the secretary on Friday next, 29th inst. The following ladies and gentlemen were appointed a hanging committee : —Mrs Wood, Miss Prior, Miss Dauiell and Messrs Fenton, Daniell, Jacksou, F. E. Lamb, Haslam, Dean MeKenna, and the secretary. ~ After deciding to hold the next in the Technical School, at 4 p.m. on Friday, 29th inst., the meeting adjourned.
