The relief crew lor the Encounter has. already left Portsmouth by H. M.S. Hawk, which is expected to arrive at Colombo on April 10th. The exchange of crews will probably take place on the following day, and the Hawk will" then return to England with the time expired officers and men of the Encounter.
LIFEBOAT RESCUES.

Received Thursday, 8.20 a.m. LONDON, Wednesday. The Royal National Lifeboat Institution's boats saved (544 lives from forty-three vessels in 1909.
