The returns ot the municipal elections are still incomplete, but those to hand show that the Liberals aud Unionists iv the provinces about held their own. Socialists suffered overwhelming defeat iv many districts. (Received Tn-Du-j at $.4~i a.m.) LONDON, Last Night. The Progressives wou sixteen seats at Camberwell, seven in Southwark, aud seventeen iv Hackney. The Municipal Reformers gaiued 28 at Battersea, aud now hold 52 out of 54. The turn over is largely due to the Socialist candidates.

The chief features ot the London election were the success of the Reformers at Battersea, where two Progressive Socialists were elected; the loss of the Reformers' majority at South wark ; aud Lord Monks well's defeat at Chelsea.
