MASTERTON A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

GENERAL COMMITTEE

The ordinary meeting of the General Committee of "the Mastertou A. and P. Association was held on Saturday nfternoou, there being present: Messrs D. McGregor (chairman), G. C. Summerell, A, G. Pilmer, Q. Douald, B. Rayner, J. P. Perry, W. McKeuzie, J. Strang, R. J. Dagg, T. P. Lett, E. E. Chamberlain. O. C. Cooper, E. Harper, H. Morrison, D. Caselberg, J. B. Moodie, W. J. Welch. A. J. Percy, A. J. Stoue-Wigg, O. Percy and J. C. McKillop.

Mr H. Gillies, of Paimerston North, judge of fat cattle at the recent Show, wrote returning his cheque for £1 10s for expenses, as a donation to the Associatiou, at the same time thanking the Committee for its kindness to him duriug his visit to Mastertou, particularly mentioning the valuable services of "Mr A. G. Pilmer, chief steward of the fat cattle classes.—lt was resolved to thauk Mr Gillies for ins donation.

The Council of the New Zealand Jersey Breeders' Association forwarded a list of approved judges in dairy cattle, and asked the co-operation of the Masterton Association iv selecting their judges from that list.—Tho Committee decided that where it was possible to obtain a judge from the official list such would be dove, but the Committee did not hold itself bound to this in auy way. The Manawatu A. and P. Association advised that a conference of delegates of North Island A. aud P. Associatious would 1)3 held at Paimerston North on Juno 24th, and invited the Mastertou Associatiou to .send delegates aud subjects for discussion.—Messrs D. McGregor, junr., aud W. Perry were appointed delegates, and it was left to them to -decide upou what subjects they would bring before the conference. The same delegates were appoiuted t'> represent the Association at tbe conference of New Zealand A. aud P. Associations which will be held in Wellington during the preseut year, about August. A letter of thanks was received r'rom the Department of Agriculture r'or the samples of grain forwarded for exhibition at Home, which, the letter stated, would do credit to the distiict. The Finance Commit*ee reported that the dr balance at date amounted to £1656 10s 4d, aud recommended the passing for payment of accouuts amounting to £11S 17s 7d. The Committee also recommended for adoption the estimates of receipts and expenditure for 1000-10 as prepared by a subcommittee.—The report was adopted. The Ground Committee's report, which was adopted, recommended that the Mastertou Football Club be •allowed the use of the Dixou-street Showgrounds for practice matches for tiie season at a charge of £2 10s, subject to arrangements being made with the Rugby Union regarding Cup matches; " also that the Fiiendly Societies' Council be granted the use of the grounds for a benelit football match in aid of the Hospital oil May Ist. at a charge of £2 2s. which will he refunded to the Hospital.
