MUTINY OF ARTILLERYMEN
A PEACEFUL TERMINATION
CASUALTIES IN THE CAPITAL
(Received To-day, at 5.30 a.m.) LONDON, Last Night. Major Doughty Wylie, British ViceConsul at Adaua, was wounded.
It is rumoured that several hundreds were killed, including two American missionaries.
Twelve hundred artillerymen at Hademkani mutinied aud seized the officers. They then entrained for Constantinople to assure themselves that the Constitution was maintained, and to see if the Sultan was alive. When they arrived, they marched to the War Office, where refreshments were served. From there they proceeded to the Parliament Square, where the Acting-President of the Chamber made a reassuring speech. They afterwards cheered the Sultau, and reentrained for Hademkani.
Enuer Hakki has arrived at Salonika. Pie accuses the Liberal Union of siding with the reactionaries in the revolution and another stage of the Kiarail plot, in which the Sultan is also concerned. He claims that the whole of the cavalry are siding with the re-constructed Committee, and states that the Albanians abandoned local struggles iv order to be ready to march to Constantinople.
Stray bullets on Tuesday and Wednesday wounded five hundred and seventy-four people in Constantinople, and killed seventeen. A number of officers were intentionally killed. It is yet unknown whether- General Izzet Fuad, assistant Minister for War, was murdered on Friday evening.
