KOPUARANGA NOTES.

[Svecial to Daily Times.)

Tlie unusual sight of a swagger aud Ins wife, both young, was to be seen tho other morning tramping along the road to town. They wore both stepping out at a fair pace, and the woman appeared a littlo footsore, but the man was philosophically blowing a cloud of smoke into tho frosty air. Unlike the Australian black on the tramp the man was carrying all the impedimenta. Sharp frosts were experienced on Tuesday and Wednesday morning, puttiug au end to all tho garden plants susceptible to frosts. The Sports Club has been marvellously fortunate in their choice of days for tne annual gathering. In three successive years the day precediug has been wot, and last Sunday tho rain came down in torrents, preventing the usual church service, although the Rev. Mr Thompson braved the storm and came from toivu.

Threshing machines aud chaffcutters have been busy for the last fortnight butting up tlie season's crop, aud mauy farmers are disposing of their Jots, although there has been a good deal of grumbling at the low prices, which range in the vicinity of Is ( .)d. Hence tho roads aud station are busier at present with tho farmars' teams aud their loads than at any time of the year.
