AUCKLAND, Last Night,

A public meetiug was held to-night for the purpose of cousidering the steps to be takeu iv view of the recent allegations of bribery aud corruption in couuectiou with the licensing administration. Mr E. G. B. Moss, Who was present, repeated his previous statement ou the subject, aud moved that the Government be asked to appoint a Royal Commission to investigate the matter. The motion was seconded by Dr Bedford, and carried. Subsequeutly a petition asking for the appointment of the Commission was drawn up and signed.
