Election Campaign. TO THE ELECTORS OP MASTBETON. I LADIES AND GENTLEMEN — Id offering you my aoi'vices us Member of I'arliament for this important electorate, 1. fully appreciate the responsibility of: reprcI senting this growing district. If returned, I slmll sptiro no effort in advancing the interests el' all sections of the community. This Electorate ia not receiving fair treatment with regard to acquiring land for settlement. The result is.that those of our [armors' sons, who arc at all ambitious, arc compelled to find land outside the district. We want more producers, and my policy will bo to secure land for these sterling young settlors. Last year 114,000 acres were settled in the Wairarapa Electorate, as against the small area of 1>72 acres of Crown Lands in Masterton. lam in favour of Freehold. This is tho only tenure that will encourage our settlers to fully improve their holdings. We all participate in the greater wealth that is produced from highly improved laud. 1 pledge myself to spare 110 effort in getting a railway through to I'ongaroa. This work ought to have been carried out years ago. Yours obediently, JOHN HUNTER. TO THE ELECTORS OF MASTERTON.
