"QUEENSLAND AS IT IS."

I'tO THE EDITOR.! Sir,—May I crave space to thauk your correspondent "W.B. " for his graphic description of "Queensland as it is." Although a Queensland native, I must agree with him that it is a good place to be out of, aud ono can only be grateful that oue lias escaped with his life, aud as to having any desire to return to the above pestridden country, that is out of the question. I would just like to add, that there is one pest, which is an annoyance to the farmer, that your correspondent quite forgot to mention —viz., the beautiful Lyre bird, but fortuuately as the warm season advances, it migrates further South. Thanking you in anticipation. —I am, etc., E. J. OHILTON. Kuripuui, 30th October.
