Bro. J. G. Moore, P.C.R., presided at the fortnightly meeting of Court Marquis of Normauby, A.0.F., at Carterton, on Wednesday night, when the resignation of the S.W., who is leaving the district,was accepted with regret. Mr E. G. Robertson, of Featherstou, met with a paintui accident on Wednesday afternoon. He was assisting to shove a wheel of a cart, when his right hand was jammed between the wheel aud the body of the cart, iuflictnasty marks. A plank protrlßffg from the body of the vehicle was the cause of the trouble. Mr Robertson is the secoud person hurt in the same way with the same vehicle. Hodge, of Carterto-i, has beeu appointed mauager of a cheese factory at Longbnsh. The Methodise Christian Endeavour Society In Featherston has altered its name to Young People's Bible Class. Mr A. W. Gray has been appointed teinnorary leader, and also secretary. Misses Jackson and Sadler, and Mr Aitchisou, comprise the committee.

The pipes for the Martiuborough high pressure scheme arrived on Thursday.

An enjoyable dance, under the auspices of the Featherstou Fire Brigade, was held on Wednesday evening, when there was a good atcendauce. Music was played by Mrs A. Burt, and Messrs C. Lust and A. Higgison were M. 'sO. A candle-guessing competition is being held in connection with the Bazaar in aid of Sfc. Mark's Church, Carterton, on August 7th aud Bth.
