The monthly meeting of the Featherston Town Board was held on Wednesday evening, Mr J. W. Card in the chair. The treasurer's report showed that the receipts since last meeting had been £46 3s 3d, and accounts amounting to £54 14s 7d were presented and passed for payment. The general account was reported in debit £219 17s 10d. F. A. O'Neale was granted a plumber's license. Messrs A. Donald and W. Hodder were appointed delegates to attend a meeting in connection with the matter of urging the Government to accept the offer of £6000 from Mr W. C. Buchanan for an experimental farm iv Wairarapa. The date of holding a ball in aid of the Town Hall improvements was altered to June 11th. Hawker have donated £1 each to the funds of the Greytowu Fire Briagde, which has decided to procure four helmets for the use of branchmeu. Mr Teu.ua.ut, Inspector of Schools, has been on a visit to Maryborough. Forty trucks, containing 2300 head of sheep, left the Featherstou railway station on Wednesday for Ngahaunmga.
