STOCK MARKET.

The New Zealaud Loan and Mercantile Ageucy Co., Ltd., report as follows :—At Masterton, on Wednesday, we had a fairly full yarding of all classes. The dry weather drop in wool and fats accounted for the hesitation ou the part of buyers to operate, several pens being passed, but all lines fouud purchasers after the sale, when owners' reserves were reduced. Cattle were well represented, but buyers were loth to speculate, a fact mainly due to the fear of continued dry weather, ouly about half of the entry changing hands. Heavy fat ewes 13s lOd, fat and forward ewes 9s to lis, shorn ewes and lambs 17s 6d, woolly ewes and lambs 23s 6d to 245, small hoggets 14s 3d, store ewes 9s, best 2toothewes los lid. 2-tooth wethers 12s 3d to 12s lOd, fat and forward cows 60s, m to 2-year steers 60s, yearlings 25s to 355, weaver pigs and slips up to 14s 3d.

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows on their stock sale, held at their Mastertou yards, yesterday:—There was a very limited yarding of sheep aud a fair yarding of cattle. Bidding was anything but brisk. Owiug to the continued dry weather buyers will not operate. We quote: Aged ewes 9s. 2-tooth ewes 15s (sd, 2-year steers £2 2s 6d, 3-year steers £3 12s, 18-month heifers 355, fat cows £3 10s to £4, springing heifers £4 10s, porkers 27s 6d to 30s, slips 18s.

Messrs R. E. Howell and Co., Ltd., report sales last week as follow.—Turkey 7s, geese 4s 3d, ducks 5s per pair, fowls -Is 3d per pair, potatoes (Up-ot-date) 7s per sack, onions per lb. Vegetables, various prices. Peaches, 7s per 141b case.
