PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL.

(By Telegravh — Press Association.)

AUCKLAND, Last Night.

In a letter to an official of the Auckland Rugby Union, dated November 7th, J. O. Gleeson, acting as secretary for the New Zealand professional footballers, says:—'' Professionalism is extending all through Wales. I think Swansea and Cardiff will be playing professional football next year. In the nine matches played so far, we have far exceeded the takings of the last team. We expect tremendous gates at Wigan, Oldham and Hunstel (December 2(>th). After next week it will be all profits, as the expenses are now all paid. We will probably play three test matches, one in Leicester, which has revolted against the amateur code, one in Wales, and one in London. I honestly think this tour will realise £10,000 profit."
