NORTH ISLAND COMPETITION

The twenty-sixth week of the competition promoted by the North Island Egg-laying Competition Association, Ltd., at Cambridge, was concluded on Friday, November Ist, 11)07.

The number of eggs laid during the Week was mU being; an average of 28.18 per pen. The total number of eggs laid since May Ist is 42,332. The monthly prize of £1 Is, for most eggs laid during the mouth of October, was won by peu 82, Messrs Cooke and Fleming, Cambridge, White Leghorns, with a total of 155 eggs. The highest layiugs for the week were : _Mrs Bosto'ck, Te Pake, Brown Leghorns, 37; T. B. Brookes, Clarendon (5.A,.) White Leghorns, 3(5; A. and P. Association, Auckland, White Leghorns, 36; I. Goodwin, New Plymouth, White Leghorns, 34; Mrs Harrison, Avondale, White Leghorns, 34; Waikato Independent, Cambridge, White Leghorns, 34; W. J. Brookes, Mount Albert, Silver Wyandottes, 34; H. Carter, Cambridge, White Leghorns. 34; W. Knight, Hutt (Wellington), White Leghorns, 34. The leading pens to date are :—K. W. K. Fairclough, Hamilton, Black Orpingtons, 729; Mrs J. H. Harrison, Avondale, White Leghorns, 703; F. C. Hand, Hamilton, White Leghorns, 688; E. J. Williamson, Hamilton, White Leghorns, (584; Mrs F. Bostock, Te Puke, Brown Leghorns, 64(5; G. S. Pearson, Hamilton, White Leghorns, 637.
