NIREAHA NOTES.
Wedding Bells
Tuesday was a red-letter day at Nireaha, a marriage ceremony being performed in the township at eleven o'clock. The contracting parties were two well-known young residents of the district, each of whom are deservedly popular with their acquaintances. Miss Pearl Cadwallader, eldest daughter of Mr Win. Ca-dwallader, was the bride, and looked exceedingly pretty in a .bine tailor-made costnme, faced with white silk, and wore a white hat, trimmed with white ostrich feathers and pale yellow roses. The bride carried a. lovety shower bouquet of cosmos and ferns. Mr Albert Wilkins, the bridegroom, was attended by Mr A. Cadwallader as best man. The bride, who was given away by her farther, was attended hy Miss Amy Cadwallader (sister) and Miss Myrtle Hercock (cousin). The chief bridesmaid, Miss Oadwallader, was attired
in a cream nuu's-veiling, trimmed with lace and insertion, and Miss Hercock wore a white sewed robe. Each had hats to match. About forty persons sat down to a sumptuous wedding breakfast, at the home of the bride's parents. At eight o'clock in the evening the Public Hall was brought into requisition, where dancing was indulged in till the small hours of the , , morning by a. large concourse of friends and relations. The newly-married couple's health was toasted in right royal style. The ■honeymoon will be spent in Christelmrch, and they will afterwards take up their residence iv Eketahuna. The presents received by Mr and Mrs Wilkius comprised many useful and ornamental articles.
