The shortage of railway trucks is being felt here. Six hundred lambs were waiting at the local station, on Thursday, for trucks. A few days ago a valuable mare belonging to Mr T. Henderson, of Kokotau, was gored by a bull. The injured animal was brought into Cartertou for veterinary attention. At a meeting of Court Marquis of Normanby, A.0.F., on Wednesday night, Bro. F. Turley, C.R., presiding. A letter from the New Zealand Friendly Societies' Colonial Executive, with reference to the proposed conference of delegates and Executive of the British Medical Association was referred to the Friendly Societies' Council to report on.
