Presentation of an Address and
Purse
(By 'Telegraph—Press Association.) Pahiatua, This Day,
After mass at the local Roman Catholic Church, yesterday morning, Father Tom McKenna was the recipient of an illuminated address and purse of sovereigns, and gratulations from parishioners on his recovery from his recent illness. Mr D. Brosnahan spoke on behalf of the AVoodville parishoners, Mr A. Quinlan, of Mangatainoka read the address, and Mr T. Quirk, .of Konini, presented the purse of £105.
Father McKenna, who has been in charge of the Pahiatua parish for fourteen years, suitably responded, stating that it was proposed at no distant date to erect a church at Pongaroa. _^
