Martinborough Stock Sale.
Messrs Dalgety and Co. (Ltd.) held monthly sale at the Martinborough on Tuesday, when about five hundred head of cattle were yarded, but only three lines of sheep came forward. There was a good attendance of buyers. Competition for all young cattle was spirited, but the demand for grown cattle was not so keen as at previous sale 3. All sheep, and with two exceptions, all cattle found purchasers. Aged shorn ewes, with eighty per cent, lambs, sold at 17s; others, 13s; fat and forward shorn ewes, 13s; 4 year bullocks, £5 10s ; fat cows, £4 19s 6d to £5 Is ; springing heifers, £3 2s 6d ; aged cows and a percentage of calves, £2 15s; 2-year steers, mixed colours, £3; 18-months steers, £2 Is to £2 16s; 18 months he-iers, £1 15s to £1 16s 6d; sheep dog, £3.
