MASTERTON TRUST LANDS TRUST.

The ordinary meeting of the Masterton Trust Lands Trustees was held last evening, at 7.30, wh n there were present: Messrs C. E. Daniell (chairman), T. Wagg, T. B Michell, E. Feist and J. A. Kenall Correspondence was icad as follows: -■- From the Town Cierk, thanking the Trustees for their grant in aid of the Public Library. From same, agreeing to terms offered by Trustees for connection of Fire Brigade Station with the drainage. From Wellington Harbour Board, agreeing to accept the sum of £800 oft' debentures'/ From Mr 11. Hallenstein, asking for consent of Trustees to the transfer of lease part town acre VI to Hallenstein Bros., Ltd. From Secretary Masterton Fire Brigade,/ thanking Trust for grant. From the Permanent Investment Society, forwarding appointment of Mr J. B. Keith as valuer on their behalf with reference to the lease of part of town acre 89, expiring: December next. —Mr Hathaway was appoint- 1 ed to act on behalf of the Trustees. From Mr A. W. Hogg, M.11.R., re Trust Empowering Act Amendment. From Mr C. 11. Izard, M.H.R., in reference to same. Accounts amounting to £933 10s, including Wellington Harbour Board £816 Is 3d and scholarship £20, were passed for payment. The balance at the Bank of New Sbiitri, Wales was shown to be £617 8s Bd. When passing the scholarship grants, the Chairman referred in congratulatory terms to the successes scored in Wellington by Mill. O'Leary, \\ ho holds a Masterton scholarship. A deputation from the Fernridge School Commitles, consistipg of Messrs G. H. Perry and H. Evans, wailed on the Trust, and asked for assistance in procuring a. piano. —The Chairman promised the deputa" tion that the matter would receive immediate considerat on. Mr E. Feist moved, and Mr Renal 1 seconded, that £10 be granted. Mr Michell moved amending the amount to £15.—The origii al motion was carried. The Chairman moved, and Mr Feist seconded, that an allocation not exceeding £25, being half the cost of erection of a tool house and forcing-house, be voted to the local Agricultural School.—Carried.
