Masterton Stock Sale.

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Masterton stock sale as follows :- -We submitted a yarding of over 13,000 sheep of all classes, and, notwithstanding the unfavourable weather, we quitted over 12,000 of the number offered. Bidding at auction was somewhat irregular, but all classes of good quality found ready sale immediately on being passed in. Buyers from all outside districts were present, and of the number of sheep sold nearly half were purchased for other parts. Mr W. Perry's sheep were eagerly competed for, the various lots easily topping the market for this season, his 2-tooth ewes being bought by a Waikato client, the balbeing knocked down to purchasers from Manawatu and Rangitikei. The bulk of the yarding of lambs was purchased by a Wanganui buyer, and the best wethers by a client from Waverley. A good yarding of cattle met with better compction than at late sales, and the whole yarding, with the exception of two small pens, changed hands at satisfactory prices. We quote : -On account of Mr William Perry : Fat ewes 18s -Id, 2-tooth ewes in lamb 21s 9d, -1 and 6-tooth ewes in lamb 2-is Gil, f.m. ewes in lamb 225. On account of other vendors : Fat ewes 13s 2d to 15s, forward empty ewes -lis 91 to 12s lOd, store ewes Gs to 10s Id, ewes in lamb lbs Id, 15s 7d, 15s 6d, 15s, Us 3d, Its, 13s lid, down to 12s for good to medium lots, poor sorts 8s to 10s -Id, cull ewes 3s 7d to Gs, lambs, best wooly, 13s, others, woolly, 10s to lis Sd, best shorn lis lid, others shorn Ss Gd to 10s 7d, poorer sorts 5s to 7s Sd, *- culls 3s to 3s i)d, best wethers lGs lOd, others 15s to 15s 7d, cull 2-tooths Ss lid. Cattle-Forward bullocks £5 19s to £6 ss, 3 year steers £4 to £4 14s, young steers 30s £2 Is, fat cows £4 to £3 Ss Gd, empty 2heifers 36s to £2 10s, heifers in calf &-..K2 10s to £3 Ss Gd.
