SCHOOL COMMITTEE ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the recently-formed Wairarapa School Committee Association was held in the Borough Council Chambers, Masterton, yesterday. There were present:— Mr R. Brown (in the chair), Rev.B. 11. Ginger (Greytown), Messrs G. Cobb (Martinborough), J. Hare (Rongokokako), W. Jessen (Mauriceville West), H. B. Stuckey (Rangitumau), C. C. Jackson (Dreyerton), H. Vile (Eketahuna), E. Harper (Matahiwi), and H. Evans (Fernridge). Considerable time was occupied in discussing proposed rules under which the Association should work, and finally a set of rules were agreed to. Rev. Ginger gave notice to discuss the question of the change of books, complaining of lack of uniformity in school books and of frequent changes. Mr Jackson gave, notice to suggest to School Committees throughout the district to hold their meetings all on the same night in the month. The Secretary (Mr W. Easthope) was instructed to send a copy of the rules to all Committees in Wairarapa, with an invitation to join the Association. It was decided to hold the next meeting at Masterton on June 6th.
