RONGOKOKAKO NOTES.
{Special to Daily Times.)
We have had quite a spell of tine weather lately, tho Easter holidays boing particularly fine. Fine weather does not matter much to a dairy farmer from a holiday point of view —his only holiday is in tho winter.
Tho supply of milk to the local cheese factory is falling gradually, though not nearly so fast as last year, as grass is very plentiful this year.
Tho highest test at the Cheese Factory last week was 5.0 and the lowost 4.G. Tho Company have been advised that their " Matatua" shipment realised the satisfactory figure of £Gl. The " Turakina " shipment realised £67 per ton, and the reports of tho quality are very encouraging.
We have had quito a crop of inspectors hero recently, Mr Cullen, Inspector of Machinery, paid his annual visit to tho Choose Factory and Creamery ; Mr Burton paid a visit to tho school and addressed the children on the advantages of a regular attendance and coming to school clean and tidy. Tho Sheep and Noxious Weed Inspectors have also paid us visits.
Some of the hares liberated by the Acclimatisation Society some two years ago, have been seen near the schoolhouse lately.
