RECENT PALMERSTON SENSATION.
{By Telegraph—Press Association.)
Palmerston North, This Day,
The interest in the recent fatal shooting affray here was revived to-day, when Maria Harris appeared before the Court charged with the murder of Frederick Salvatial Murfitt, on March 21st. The accused, who is still an inmate of the Hospital, suffering from the effects of a self-inflicted gun shot wound and a dose of liniment for external application, which she drank apparently with suicidal intent, was obviously in a weak state of health.
She was formally charged and remanded till the 271h inst. In the meantime she will be detained in Wellington Gaol.
