EKETAHUNA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Finance Committee
(Special to Daily Times.)
At a meeting of the Eketahuna County Council Finance Committee, held on Saturday, there were present—Crs Moss (chair), Dawson, Lowes, Pitcaithly, Redpath, Falkner, Davie and Griffiths.
Bank books submitted showed: County Fund, dr. £482 14s lid ;. Government Loans Account, cr. £26 7s.
Accounts submitted for payment amounted to £336 8s Bd.
. Cr Dawson moved, and Cr Redpath seconded, that the action of the Chairman, in obtaining a legal opinion from Mr H. C. Robinson, solicitor, on the question of the Council and Town Board be confirmed ; and also his action in asking Mr Robinson to wait on.the Council to explain the position. — Carried. Cr Pitcaithly proposed, and Cr Dawson seconded, that accounts to the amount of £332 2s be recommended to the Council for payment. Cr Moss proposed, and Cr Pitcaithly seconded, That the Clerk be instructed to claim from the Department of Roads the amount paid out of the County Fund on account of grant works —vis., £420 0s 9d.
