HORSE-BREEDING INDUSTRY.

The Minister of Agriculture presided at a conference to discuss the improvement of the breed of horses. It was resolved that it is desirable that the Indian and Imperial Governments establish agencies in New South Wales, with a view of purchasing direct from the breeders. Other resolutions were passed favouring the appointment of a competent Board to inspect stallions, a tax on stallions, the Government discouraging their export, and erecting marts for holding horse, fairs in connection with Shows.
