DREYERTON NOTES.

Following the example of their neighbours, the .young men of this district decided, last night, to form a football club. Twenty-one members were elected for a start, and blue and black decided on for the colours, provided that they are not already in use by some other club. As the season is so far advanced only a general levy of 2s was struck for this year. Saturday was chosen for practices, and the following officers elected :—■ President, Mr G. H. Clarke; Vice-Presidents, Messrs Wakeman and Nightingale; Secretary, Mr G. A. Donovan ; Captain, Mr A. 11. Clarke ; Committee, Mr Nightingale, Captain and Secretary.
The monthly meeting of the School Committee was last evening, when Messrs Jackson (chair), Cottle, Diamond and Bruce were present, It was decided to call the Board's attention to the attendance so as to secure the appointment of a mistress before October Ist. The rest of the business consisted of passing several several small accounts for
payment.
