ARBITRATION COURT.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Auckland, This Day. Tho Arbitration Court inflicted penalties of £65 and costs against a mining company for a breach of award, in under-paying firemen. Dunkdin, Last Night. The Arbitration Court was engaged at Milton to-day hearing the dispute of the Agricultural Labourers' Union and limekiln owners of Otago and Southland. The men asked for forty-eight hours, a halfholiday on Saturday, and wages; ranging from 8s to 10s per clay. The employers contended that there was little or no profit on lime burning, and il wages were increased most.of.the mines-would have to be closed. It the price of lime was increased, the Government would not carry it free on tho railways , as it was provided that the price must not exceed 13s per ton. Further evidence will be taken at Invercargill and Oamaru.
