MASTERTON QUOITS CLUB.

Annual Meeting of Members.

The annual meeting of members of the Masterton Quoits Club was held last evening, in the Central Hotel, Mr J. H. Pauling presiding. The other members present we're Messrs C. Sowman, E. Pawson, Hooper, J. Allan, Gibson, and the Secretary (C. Tootell).

The balance-sheet for the year was presented, and showed the receipts to be £20 lis 6d (£l6 members' fees, and £4 lis 6d donations). The expenditure totalled £13 14s 6d, the principal items being books, refreshments and entertaining visiting clubs, leaving a net credit balance of £6 17s. Outstanding subscriptions, all of which were considered good, were shown to bo £3.

The balance-sheet was adopted. The election of officers was postponed till a meeting to be held one week from date.

Congratulatory reference was made-to the enthusiastic manner in which the Secretary had carried out his duties during the past year, and the unvarying interest he had taken in the welfare of the Club, securing new members, etc. On tbe motion of Mr Pawson, seconded by Mr Sowman, it was decided to grant him a bonus of £3.

It was announced to the meeting that several business men of the town and others had promised donations to the Club's funds.

The, meeting then adjourned till Friday next, when it was decided that a social evening be held in the Central Hotel, and that the trophies won during the season be then presented to the winners.
