THE MANGAWEKA VIADUCT.
The Mangaweka Viaduct and the Toi-Toi bridge were tested last week, by Messrs Cooke, Fraser ancl Sneddon. Three engines of 28, 34 and 17 tons respectively, four trucks averaging 42 tons each, and a van weighing about 5 tons, were passed over <tt a speed of 80 miles an hour, and everything was found satisfactory. The deflection with this huge weight was only 5-16ths of an inch.
