FURTHER ISLAND MASSACRES.

Further massacres are reported in the New Hebrides. A boat belonging to the French recruiting ketch, Charollaise, with a crew of five natives, landed at Mallicolo. The natives surrounded ancl killed four, the fifth escaping, wounded, by swimming to the ketch.
A second tragedy took place aboard Lhe French labour ketch, Perle, when lying off the coast of Santo. The native crew butchered Captain Lebouhel'e and the mate, Willie Champion, while they were sleeping. They stripped the vessel, and escaped in the boats to Aoba, where they were captured.
A French warship has gone to investi gate.
