We do not suppose that any particular good will result from Mr A. W. Hogg's appeal in the House on behalf of the Masterton Cabmen. There is one obviou. way out of the whole difficulty. The Masterton Borough Council has absolute control under its bylaws over all cab traffic ; and if it chose to settle the difficulty it could so at once. If the convenience of the travelling public demands that an end should be made of the present " comic opera " business, the Council would be quite justified in raising " The Siege of Kars."
