Wellington v. Canterbury.

Wellington*, Saturday

The attendance at the WellingtonCanterbury match on the Athletic Park this afternoon was only about two thousand. The weather v.as fins over-head, but a strong northerly wind blew down the ground. In the first spell Wellington, playing with the wind, scored two tries, through the agency of Wallace and Wright, and Burns also scored lor Canterbury. The visitors, however, had all the best of the play. Contrary to expectation, Canterbury died away in the second spell, and the Wellington men were for the greater part oi the time on the attack, though no scores were registered, Wellington winning by G points to 3. Canterbury's poor showing in the second spell was probably due to the fact that the men were fagged out after their hard tussle against the wind in the first portion of the game.
