Pirate is also full brother to Viking, Lord Harold, and Era (Champion Trotting Stallion of New South Wales), who at Hobartville sale made 185, 275, G7O, and 600 guineas respectively. Piuate was only shown once at the Hawkesbury Show, New South Wales, where he beat his brother, Era, who is now Champion of New South Wales. Piuate has never performed in public, owing to an accident which occurred while in training. Pirate's dam, Violetta (imp ), is by Echo (son of Eysdyk's Hambletonian), from Nita (by Sawyer'sHambletonian),from Betsy Austin (by Montreal, a Canadian pacar). Having been for several seasons standing at the Hobartville stud, and mated with the very be&fc mares in Australia, including Kentucky Maid (dam of Ostlerie), it will be seen that Pirate's credentials are equal to, if not better than, any sire in New Zealand.
