PAHIATUA NOTES.

A special general meeting of the Pahiatua Athletic Club was held in the Trocadero, on Friday evening. The President (Mr W. Tosswill) occupied the chair. There waa a large number of members present. The balance-sheet, presented by the Secretary (Mr G. Walker) showed, after paying' all liabilities, a credit balance of i>23 15s 6d. This being the result of the first year's annual gathering it was considered highly satisfactory. A social is to be given to the Ladies' Committee who assisted to make the Sports such a success. Reference was made by the President to the very satisfactory manner in which the Secretary had carried out his duties, and to the regret at his leaving the district very shortly.
Heavy showers fell all day on Saturday, and trade for a Saturday practically was non est.
