At Mastebton : Mails for Wellington and intermediate offices close daily at 6.15 a.m. and 2.40 p m., and for Clareyille, Carterton, Greytown North, and Featherston, and Wellington at 4.45 p m., excepting for Dalefield, and Matarawa ; for these offices mails close at 8.15 a.m. only. The posting box is always cleared for letters and telegrams at opening of Office on week days and Sundays. Envelopes containing telegrams should be marked "Telegram." The office hours for telegraph work, at Masterton, are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and from 7 p.m. to midnight daily, Sunday excepted. Sundays from 5 to 5.3u p.m. Holidays from 9 am. to 10 a.m., and from 7 p.m. to midnight. Telephone Exchange is open from 8 a.m. to midnight daily, Sundays excepted, except Good Friday and Christmas Day, when the hours are 9 to 10 a.m. only. POSTAGE TO AUSTRALIA. The postage on letters to the Australian coionies has been reduced to one penny for oach i ounce or fraction thereof.

Commercial Papers.—Town, j<3 if not exceeding J oz., or Id for the first 4 oz., and |d for each succeeding 2 oz.; Inland, Id for the first 4 oz. or less, and Jd for each succeeding 2 oz.; Australia and all other places, 2£d lor the first lOoz., and £d for each succeeding 2 oz. Patterns and Sample Packets.—-All places except Queensland, not exceeding 4 oz., Id ; every additional 20z., £d. Newspapers.—Town and Inland, £d each; Australia and South Sea Islands, Id each ; all other countries Id if not exceeding 4 oz., and Jd for each additional 2 oz. Parcels.—lnland, 6d for the first lib, and 3d for each succeeding lib ; Australian States and Norfolk Island, 8d for the first lib, and 6d for each succeeding lib; for all other countries the charges vary.
